The coaching carousel in the Jupiler Pro League is in full swing this season as well. Standard chose to part ways with Carl Hoefkens on New Year's Eve and ultimately brought in Ivan Leko as his replacement.
Johan Boskamp expresses sympathy for Hoefkens, stating, 'I find it worthless, first and foremost for Carl's career. Starting the season twice with a top club and being dismissed both times before winter break doesn't look good on your CV,' as reported in Het Belang van Limburg.
Whether Leko has the golden formula remains uncertain. While he has consistently delivered excellent results with the teams he coached, success also depends on the quality within the player group. However, that's not the only significant problem.
"When you read that Standard is drowning in debt, I doubt whether those American owners will inject much money into the team. I hope they don't end up like KV Oostende," warns the Dutchman."

Informative article. Thanks.
