"Joining the elite Japanese team Urawa in January 2021 from Tochigi, Akimoto has played 135 matches for the Red Diamonds, tallying 11 goals and 10 assists. Along the way, he clinched the Japanese Cup (2021), the Supercup (2022), and the Asian Champions League (2022). He notably featured in the Club World Cup this winter.

Louvain welcomes the reinforcement, especially as the club currently sits in the relegation zone, 14th with 16 points. Charleroi is the first non-relegation club, holding the 12th position with 21 points. OHL will resume their league campaign on Sunday with a match against Anderlecht at 6:30 PM."
